Jean A. Hegler

Ms. Hegler has concentrated her practice in the areas of estate, gift and trust taxation, estate planning and administration and elder law planning. From February 1987 to July 1994, Ms. Hegler was an attorney in the Trusts and Estates department of the Manhattan law firm of Schulte Roth & Zabel. Prior to 1987, Ms. Hegler was an attorney in the Trusts and Estates Department of the Manhattan law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, and an adjunct professor at St John’s University School of Law.

Ms. Hegler has unique experience representing high net worth individuals, trusts, estates, family businesses and foundations in sophisticated tax planning and administration. Ms. Hegler lectures frequently and has authored various legal publications, including a book entitled Wills: Structure, Design & Settlement under New York State Law, which is used as a reference resource by law firms and law libraries and as a course textbook by over twenty colleges and universities in New York State. She has also written numerous articles in the national magazine Trusts & Estates and the local bar association newspaper, Nassau County Attorney.
